School Supplies

Remember the line from "You've Got Mail" about a bouquet of sharpened pencils? It's time for college, and that bouquet could turn out to be handy about now. In past times, our college has always distributed the high-school supply list 2 days before college started. For one thing, it only gave me one day to get what my children required for the 1st day, and for another thing, the high-school sales were over. When you have had your children at college, you get an understanding of the supplies the college usually wants.

Our primary school is massive on glue sticks. Gone are the times when you took a bottle of Elmer's glue and had it refilled when you were given low. Glue sticks are the way to go, less mess, simpler to use, and no massive globs of glue that take a couple of days to dry. I am in possession of a big pile of additional glue sticks that I acquired when they went on sale. These are good items to find on sale and pick up before college starts.

The summer before college starts is the single time I have seen college supplies on sale so take care you exploit it.

Some colleges and teachers accept donations for other items utilized in the school room. You can check with the teachers and discover what items they are wanting. This is a good way to help out the teacher. When the youngsters return home with their supply lists now, we sit down and go thru my stash and check off the stuff we have, and what we continue to need.

If you keep your supply filled, there should not be a need for the fast dash to the store on the day before college starts.
